Dark Sky Approved is a third party certification acknowledging where responsible lighting designed has been used. Each Individual product undergoes testing in order to achieve approval.

Dark sky approved is a program that uses objective measures to minimise light pollution on the dark sky creating a positive effect on the environment and the ecosystems within.

To Achieve approval products must have minimise glare, reduce light spill, and therefore light pollution.

This is achieved by

  • Restriction of upward lighting

  • Not over lighting and no light spill

  • Reduced or no glare

  • Effective use of dimming and lighting controls

  • Minimize short-wavelength (bluish) light in the nighttime environment
